Swift Satire Festival

The Swift Satire Festival – only 30 minutes from Duffys of Ballybin Meath self-catering accommodation – will kick off on July 5th. They have a number of exciting events this year – A feast of satire and comedy in the festival marquee featuring Dara Ó Briain, David McSavage (The Savage Eye), Barry Murphy (Après Match), George Hook (Newstalk), Republic of Telly, Gerry Stembridge, Paddy Cullivan and other top satirists and comedians.  Other events include Swift Round Table Dinner, The Battle of the Books, Exhibition: Swift in 30 Objects, public readings, talks, a Cinemobile, an artisan food market and children’s entertainment.  For full details and bookings please log onto www.swiftsatirefestival.com

Jonathan Swift was the author of Gulliver’s Travels and spent a signficant amount of his career as an 18th Century clergyman living in Trim. If you live in Trim, sure you have to have a sense of humour!
