Roller Coasters and Medieval Castles

Once people have settled in, they’re often ready for a day of fun in Tayto Park. The best advice is to get there early, because as the day wears on, the crowds get bigger. Tayto Park boasts the second-largest roller-coaster in Europe and is only a ten minute drive from Duffys of Ballybin. There are zip-wires and climbing frames, as well as less daunting adventures for younger children.

For visitors with an interest in history and heritage, Trim Castle is a must-see. Built in the 12th Century, it will be familiar to many visitors since represented the medieval city of York in the film Braveheart. The castle has been extensively restored and the guided tours give a vivid insight into life in the middle ages.

After an activity-packed day, many people choose to have a quiet night in their apartment. This is the big advantage of booking an apartment rather than staying in a hotel, people can sit around the kitchen table and talk, the children being ushered off to bed without any need for babysitters or early nights.
