Sometimes it’s nice to have a late start. People drift into the kitchen throughout the morning and graze on breakfast and brunch food, while watching the sheep graze on the far side of the fence.
Once people have had a look at County Meath, they often want to travel into Dublin for the day. If you drive 3km to Ashbourne, there is a multi-storey car park beside McDonalds, where you can park your car for free and there are always open parking spots.
The 103 bus leaves for Dublin every twenty minutes and will drop you in O’Connell Street, which is very central. You can walk from there to the Book of Kells in Trinity College; to Dublinia; to Dublin Castle; or the Guinness Storehouse.
Alternatively you could drive to Dublin and park in the Thomas Street Car Park (near the Guinness Storehouse) or The Spire car park (near Trinity College).
If you would like to eat in Dublin, there are thousands of options. We can recommend Le Bon Crubeen near the Abbey Theatre; or Red Torch Ginger, on Andrew Street; or Thai Spice on Talbot Lane.
